Appaloosa Acres was established in 2005 with potential as a show, boarding
or rescue barn but
primarily to function, at that time, as a rehab facility for Titan, our retired Belgian hunt horse, suffering from
resistant canker.
It is now still home to a successfully cured Titan plus our other draft/ draft crosses Merlin, Marcus and May,
our Foxtrotter/QtrHorse dressage competitor Vulcan, our Appy/Arab Moonshine,
and Buck - our Appaloosa for whom the farm is named.
Legacy, our young Arabian, is now home and has been joined by Shannon - Vulcan's Missouri Foxtrotter dam - who
just celebrated her 26th birthday with us.
Vulcan had another great year of showing in 2009, earning an SCDCTA 2009 Championship with Lynda and attaining
his Regional Championship Qualification at Training Level in the Professional division with Valerie.
He and Lynda are also close to attaining their SCDCTA Bronze Medal.
Lynda and Buck have taken up the sport of Ranch Sorting. Buck fell in love with
it immediately at his first practice where he was introduced to the cows by veteran rider Cliff Chancey. Buck is
totally confident with the cattle, pushing them with his nose when they won't go and guarding the gate fearlessly.
It seems he has found his calling :-).

My horsepartner, John, was the original owner of Titan before we combined forces and is in residence at the farm.

Appaloosa Acres is located on 45 gorgeous acres outside of Blythe, Georgia. The barn, the cottage, the paddock,
round pen, pastures and a 90 x 200 ft training arena occupy 22 acres while 23 acres of scenic woods were imaginatively
transformed by a good friend into a wonderful maze of
riding trails.

We may do selective pasture boarding (with hay and grain) for a very small number of additional geldings in the
near future. Horses have shade and access to shelter during inclement weather.

Best of America By Horseback Trail Ride with Tom Seay
This weekend ride was held at Lakeview Plantation in South Carolina March 29th and 30th, 2008 and
will be broadcast on the RFD Channel in September. Lynda and Buck had a great time
with Irina and Mystic and Terry and Country. The site is great, wonderful scenery to ride through and great food
and activities all weekend.
